Offshore industry provides innumerable operational challenges while the cost of manmade mistake often becomes irreparable. In these conditions simulator training is the great way of providing offshore seafarers and rig personnel with sufficient practical skills, thereby enhancing safety of human life and environment.

The Anchor Handling Training is one of the most popular among the offshore simulator courses. It is developed to illuminate possible pitfalls of anchor handling and winch operations and raise their safety and efficiency. Course consists of theoretical and practical parts and includes GOMO guidelines, Vryhof and Bruce manuals; types of anchor systems, safe use of winch and shark jaws. There is also usually communication practice module incorporated in order to facilitate teamwork between commanding officer and winch operator, bridge and rig, bridge and deck, etc.

Closely related is Winch Operator Course which describes towing and anchor handling winches on offshore vessels. Course program scrutinizes types of winches and their layouts, frequently used terminology and abbreviations. Students also study winch computer, winch capacities and emergency procedures during winch operations.

The Rig Move Training allows gaining comprehensive understanding of this complex offshore operation. It’s well known that’s rig move requires a meticulous planning as well as skillful towing; so the course deals with the both aspects. Theoretical part is devoted to HSE requirements to MOU move operations, rigs types, on shore planning and risk assessment; while simulator module consists of towing and maneuvering practices and various handling procedures.
