Anchor Handling (E-learning) Training
The aim of the Anchor Handling (E-learning) Training is to familiarize audience with the anchor handling operations without an actual hands-on experience which is guaranteed by simulator courses. Nevertheless, CBT anchor handling trainings are meticulous in details and provide well-round understanding of dangers connected with shallow and deepwater AH operations.
Objective:
After the Anchor Handling (E-learning) Training, students will possess a clear picture of AH operations starting from AH vessel leaving a port. The 60 minutes program includes a step by step anchor handling manual which begins with receiving an anchor from a rig and decking it and end with deploying it using a buoy pennant.
Course content:
• Potential hazards of anchor handling in deep and shallow waters;
• Preparation for AH operations;
• Decking an anchor safely;
• Steps to lay out an anchor;
• Instructions to position an anchor.
Assessment: no assessment is required.
Target Audience: Deck and Engine crew of both operational and support levels interested in positions on AH vessels.
Note: to carry on training in anchor handling operations, students might choose one of the following courses: Anchor Handling Basic Training (Shallow Water) or Anchor Handling Simulator.
