Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB)
This training is an OPITO developed course aimed at offshore specialists who have to travel to and from the worksite by boat. The Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) module is often included into other more extensive offshore training programs such as BOSIET or FOET.
Objectives:
The main goals of the Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) training is to familiarize participants with the risks associated with this type of offshore transfers and ways to control it as well as to demonstrate correct methods of conducting a boat trip to the installation and safety equipment operation.
Course content:
• Type of offshore boats;
• Pre-boarding procedures;
• Items prohibited onboard of the boat;
• Safety instructions and procedures;
• Methods of boat transfer;
• Possible risks and hazards involved in boat transfer;
• Boat associated emergencies;
• Crew basket and Frog transfer;
• Practical Travel Safely by Boat exercises.
Target Audience: Offshore personnel travelling to the offshore installations by boat or carrying out such transfers.
Pre-requisites: None.*
Duration: 0.5 day.
Validity: 4 years.
Note*: Please note that holders of following certificates: BOSIET, FOET, HUET , TBOSIET, TFOET, THUET, BOSIET with CA-EBS, HUET with CA-EBS or FOET with CA-EBS are not required to participate in practical sea survival exercises.
