ADAS Occupational SSBA Part 2 Course

The program of the ADAS Occupational SSBA Part 2 course is focused on the use of surface-supplied breathing apparatus as the basic for offshore construction operations. The training features the multitude of tools such as underwater welding apparatus, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, salvage equipment, air and water dredging equipment, construction instruments and so on.

Objective:

The key learning objective of the ADAS Occupational SSBA Part 2 course is to develop skills of surface-supplied breathing apparatus operation. Another goal is to acquire useful practical knowledge of commercial diver’s tools’ required in the offshore construction industry.

Course content:

• Review of diving theory basics (physiology and processes);
• Occupational hazards and risk control, legislation;
• Surface-supplied breathing apparatus familiarization, operation and maintenance;
• Pre-dive preparations for a surface-supplied diving operation;
• Underwater operations with powered tools;
• Underwater cutting and welding;
• Underwater construction works;
• Safety and statutory requirements, procedures for underwater explosive operations;
• Hyperbaric chamber operations;
• Underwater emergency and casualty rescue;
• Nitryx enriched dives (optional).

Target Audience: Level 1 Commercial divers who would like to upgrade their qualification to work in offshore construction.

Pre-requisites:

• Valid ADAS Part 1 certificate.
• Diver’s Medical certificate (see additional requirements);
• Internationally acknowledged valid Basic First Aid with and Advanced Resuscitation and CPR and O2 management certificate (within 12 months) from Red Crescent/St. John Ambulance or equivalent organization.

Note: the ADAS Occupational SSBA Part 2 training can be conducted simultaneously with the ADAS Part 1 or ADAS Part 3 trainings.

Duration: 4 weeks.
