The ECDIS Type Specific (SIMRAD) course is mandatory for bridge officers employed onboard of vessels equipped with SIMRAD ECDIS system.  The course in taken upon completion of the ECDIS Generic training and provides in-depth analysis of the SIMRAD E5024 ECDIS capabilities as well as practical skills of keeping navigational watch with the aid of this system.

Objective:

The main objective of the ECDIS Type Specific (SIMRAD) course is to identify individual features of the SIMRAD ECDIS and provide sufficient practical knowledge for the safe and competent navigation with its aid. During the training students learn to customize the system, plan and maintain the track, receive navigational data from the ECDIS display, recognize alarms and perform some light maintenance of software and equipment.

• SIMRAD E5024 ECDIS user interface;
• Display set up;
• Sensors;
• Route planning;
• Route monitoring;
• Chart Work;
• Navigational tools and obtaining additional data from the ECDIS display;
• Backups arrangements and license upgrade.

Target Audience: Nautical officers of all ranks planning to operate SIMRAD ECDIS system.
