The HSE Professional SCUBA Diver course is an intensive program for professionals and non-divers seeking the qualification of HSE Commercial Scuba Divers. The training includes theoretical and practical parts providing comprehensive information about archeological, media and scientific underwater projects.

Objective:

Upon a completion of the HSE Professional SCUBA Diver course delegates will obtain skills and knowledge required for a safe use of various Commercial SCUBA equipment systems at depths to 30 m and performing basic manual tasks and commercial projects such as shellfish harvesting, police and scientific investigations, media projects, etc.

Course content:

  • Diving physics and physiology;
  • HSE legislations;
  • Projects planning and risk management;
  • Diving equipment operation (SCUBA systems, full face masks and half face masks);
  • Pre-dive and post-dive checks;
  • Decompression table and chamber theory;
  • Alternative Air Sources;
  • Diving in polluted waters, Night dives;
  • Underwater communication systems incl. lifeline signals, hard wire communications and Wireless Through Water Comms;
  • Underwater surveying, manual tools, shellfish harvesting;
  • Scientific projects;
  • Basic Seamanship;
  • Emergency situations;
  • Dive supervision.

Target Audience: Divers upgrading qualification to HSE Professional SCUBA Diver.

Pre-requisites: Check with your training provider.

Duration: 2 – 4 weeks depending on an initial qualification of the outset.
