HSE Surface Supplied Diver Course

The HSE Surface Supplied Diver course is specially developed for professional divers who would like to expand their qualification with Inshore / Inland dives at 50 m using surface-supplied air equipment. The program includes extensive practical module with dives from different vessels, various Kirby Morgan helmets and simulation of emergency situations.

Objective:

The key objective of the HSE Surface Supplied Diver course is to provide skills and knowledge required for the safe diving operations at the 50 m depth using surface-supplied air equipment and various pneumatic and hydraulic power tools, lifting bags, underwater welding and cutting instruments.

Course content:

• Diving physics and diver anatomy;
• “Diving at Work” legislation;
• Correct use of Surface Supplied Diving Systems;
• Pre- and post-dive checks;
• Decompression theory;
• Use of Nitrox gas mixture in Surface Supplied operations;
• Mid water work, day and night diving;
• Use of air bags, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, air lifts and air lances;
• Surface umbilical management systems (SUMS);
• Underwater welding and cutting;
• Rigging;
• Underwater inspection techniques;
• Basic Kirby Morgan helmet maintenance;
• Recompression chamber operations;
• Diving emergency procedures.

Target Audience: HSE Professional SCUBA Divers upgrading their qualification to Inshore HSE Surface Supplied Diver.

Pre-requisites: First aid and Oxygen Administration certificates; HSE Professional SCUBA Diver or an equivalent and HSE Commercial Diving Medical.

Duration: 4 weeks.
