The Confined Space Entry (Low Risk) training focuses on personnel making a regular entry into confined space no deeper than 3 meters and equipped with adequate natural or mechanical ventilation. The course is developed in a line with City and Guild requirements and provides meticulous risk assessment and intensive practical training with safety equipment and best practice working techniques.

Objectives:

The key goal of the Confined Space Entry (Low Risk) course is to form the correct understanding of the confined space as a working environment by analyzing hazards it might inflict and identifying ways to control them. During the training delegates also acquire practical skills of safety equipment operation including tripod, davit, winches, harnesses (EN1497), gas detectors, respirators, etc.).

Course content:

• Current industry legislation;
• Attributed risks;
• Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessment, Work Permits;
• Hazardous atmospheres and gas detection devices;
• Safety equipment i.e. man-riding winches, davits, tripod, retrieval systems;
• Harnesses (EN1497) inspection and fitting;
• Correct ladder climbing techniques.

Assessment: written test.

Target Audience: Personnel performing confined space entries that are classified as low risk.

Duration: 1 day.

Validity: 3 years.

Note: to improve one’s qualification personnel might choose to take up Confined Space Entry (Medium Risk) and Confined Space Entry (High Risk) trainings.
