The Confined Space Entry (Medium Risk) course focuses on not particularly deep entries with sufficient natural or mechanical ventilation where danger is relatively limited. Confined space risk is also deemed medium if the access to and from the worksite is unobstructed; and there is no risk of flooding.

Objective:

Therefore, the key objective of the Confined Space Entry (Medium Risk) training is to equip delegates with the knowledge of safe working practices in confined space presenting medium risk threat to the life and health of attendees. The training also includes a fully-fledged practical session which acquaints students with the safety equipment and self-rescuing techniques.

Course content:

• Definition of the CS;
• Current legislation;
• Levels of risks associated with a confined space (Low, Risk, High) and risk assessment;
• Permit to work; safe systems and working practices;
• Top man duties and responsibilities;
• Dangerous atmospheres and gas detection devices;
• Safety equipment (tri-pod, man-riding winch, harnesses, davit); their pre-entering checking and personal fitting;
• Communication methods;
• Breathing Apparatus – theory;
• Emergency procedures and rescue;
• Practical exercises.

Assessment: Written assessment at the end of the course.

Target Audience: Personnel entering medium risk confide space on regular basis.

Duration:  2 – 3 days.

Validity: 3 years.
