The ECDIS Type Specific (Martek Marine) course is focused on the hardware features and unique software characteristics of the Martek iECDIS system. The training is taken up after completion of the ECDIS Generic Course in accordance with the STCW 2010 requirements and complies with ISM code, IMO Model course 1.27 and MCA MIN-503(M) standards.

Objective:

Upon completion of the ECDIS Type Specific (Martek Marine) training delegates will be able to perform their watchkeeping duties with the aid of the Martek iECDIS system safely and efficiently i.e. plan and monitor vessel route, receive various navigational information from ECDIS display, manage charts and perform necessary maintenance and troubleshooting of the system.

• Menu structure of the Martek Marine ECDIS;
• Basic functionality and display;
• Sensors used in the system;
• Navigation and watchkeeping with Martek iECDIS;
• Chart Work;
• Chart Maintenance;
• Navigational tools and acquiring additional data from ECDIS display;
• Backup management and license update.

Target Audience: Masters and other bridge officers planning to work onboard of vessels equipped with Martek Marine ECDIS system.

Pre-requisites: valid ECDIS Course (Generic) certificate.

Duration: 1 – 3 days.
