IMCA Trainee Air Diving Supervisor Course

The IMCA Trainee Air Diving Supervisor course is the first step to become a professional Offshore Diving Supervisor. The training program is designed in accordance with IMCA DO13 standard ‘IMCA Offshore Diving Supervisor and Life Support Technician Schemes’.

Objective:

On completion of the IMCA Trainee Air Diving Supervisor training delegates should obtain sufficient competence to supervise air diving operation ensuring safety of a dive team. This includes corresponding pre-planning of the dive, equipment maintenance, competent supervision and timely intervention as well as proper response to diving emergences and profound knowledge of diving conditions.

Course content:

• Diving physics;
• Anatomy and physiology of divers;
• Relevant international legislation;
• Plant and equipment in air diving operations;
• Air diving emergencies and procedures;
• Rescue techniques and first aid;
• Safety on the surface;
• Diving from DP vessels, alert levels;
• Leadership and responsibility;
• Nitrox diving supervision.

Assessment: Certificate of completion will be issued after the in-house examination. In order to obtain a certificate of the fully qualified IMCA Air Diving Supervisor candidates must complete the IMCA module exam upon accumulation of the required 200 panel hours as a Trainee Air Diving Supervisor.

Target Audience: Commercial divers looking for a career advance.

Pre-requisites: Competence as an offshore commercial diver and at least 100 offshore commercial air dives prior to attending the course. ALSO, IMCA recognized surface supplied diving qualification as required in the IMCA international code of practice for offshore diving.

Duration: 5 days.
