Crisis Management and Human Behavior Training
The Crisis Management and Human Behavior Training is mandatory for passenger and cruise ship Masters, First Officers, Chief Engineers and 2nd Engineers as well as for all personnel responsible for passenger management. The training is developed based on the requirements of the STCW convention section V/2 paragraphs 3 and 4 and standards of IMO Model Course 1.29. It consists of both theoretical and practical sessions i.e. emergency drills.
Objectives:
The main objective of the Crisis Management and Human Behavior Training is to train key ship personnel to provide coordinated response in case of an emergency, meaning:
• Be familiar with the relevant legislation and safety guidelines;
• Know ship layout and be ready to put into practice ship emergency procedures;
• Manage passengers and other vessel personnel evacuation during the emergency and establish an effective communication between the remaining staff;
• Handle Crowds effectively; conduct mustering and other necessary procedures.
Course content:
• Legislative framework of the course;
• Ship layout and emergency plans;
• Ship emergency procedures;
• Human behavior aspects;
• Practical exercises (emergency drills).
Assessment: full attendance and active participation in team practices.
Target Audience: passenger and cruise vessel top officers and personnel in charge of passenger handling.
Pre-requisites: None.
Duration: 1 day.
