The marine Advanced Welding Course is specially developed to upgrade skills and knowledge obtained during the initial Basic Welding Course. The program of the advanced training is working towards the SMAW pipe and plate welder qualification; therefore is focused on the most popular welding methods such as GTAW, GMAW, OAW, etc. as well as correct operational principles of working with welding equipment.

Objective:

The key objective of the Advanced Welding Course is the achievement of the advanced qualification in ship pipe and plate welding using different welding equipment and methods i.e. Arc, Oxyacetylene, Gas Tungsten welding. The training also includes exercises in cutting, brazing and gauging.

Course content:

• Safety precautions during welding operations;
• GTAW, GMAW, OAW welding principles and equipment;
• Butt welding of metal plates and pipes;
• Gas welding and brazing of sheets and pipes onboard;
• Wire welding of ms fillets and butts in plates and pipes;
• TIG Welding techniques;
• Plasma arc cutting and gauging.

Target Audience: Ship Fitters, Marine Engineers, Oilers, Able Seamen, any other personnel requiring development of welding skills.

Pre-requisites: Basic Welding Course certificate or its equivalents.

Duration: 5 – 10 days.
