The purpose of the Rig Move Training is to provide comprehensive analysis of the variety of operations associated with the rig move with an emphasis on planning and safety procedures as well as simulator towing/maneuvering practices.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the Rig Move Training delegates will be competent in the following aspects:

• HSE requirements to the rig move operations;
• Planning and risk analysis procedures which precede these offshore activities;
• Rig move operation procedures starting from moving to final location and jacking to pre-load and punch though, and finally towing and maneuvering techniques.
• Course also includes going through Rack Phase Difference troubles;
• Emergency response scenarios which deals with most common industry cases;
• Communication between the rig and AH vessel module that includes team working practices and tool box talk.

Course content:

• HSE requirements and industry regulations applicable to the rig move operations;
• Variety of Mobile Offshore Units (Semi Submersible, Jack Up, Barge, FPSO) and specific features of their relocation;
• Planning of rig move and risk assessment;
• Seabed/ soil properties and seabed friction on legs;
• Preloading;
• MOU Basic Stability;
• Jacking and jetting systems*;
• Rack Phase Difference issues;
• Punch through;
• Towing and maneuvering simulator practice;
• Anchor Handling vessel operations;
• Communication and teamwork.

Note*:  not all training centers include this topic in the syllabus.

Target Audience: Management and operational level personnel from Oil&Gas and offshore industries.
