The Working at Height – Unit 1 Height Safety Awareness training is a theoretical course developed for specialists who are not actively involved in the working at height operations. It is designed in order to introduce participants to the Working at Height Regulations and ensure that personnel are competent in the use of PPE and harness equipment should the need occur.

Objective:

The key objectives of the Working at Height – Unit 1 Height Safety Awareness training are as follows:

• Make students aware of the existing WAH regulations and equipment requirements;
• Familiarize them about the equipment categories and marking system;
• Introduce delegates to the process of PPE and safety equipment selection, inspection, post-use maintenance and record keeping.

• Working at Height Regulations;
• Risk assessment;
• Equipment selection procedure;
• Equipment inspection;
• Rescue equipment;
• Harnesses and lanyards types;
• Hierarchy categories;
• Correct work position;
• Fall arrest and restraint systems types;
• Pre-use and post-use safety inspections and storage requirements;
• CE and EN Markings of PPE and safety equipment;
• Record keeping requirements;
• Equipment fitting.

Target Audience: Any personnel who require general knowledge of WAH legislation and equipment variety, but who are not directly involved in the working at height activities.

Duration: 1/2 day.

Validity:  3 years.
