The TBOSIET with Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) is an OPITO course which is aimed at specialists starting career in offshore oil&gas industry. The training provides an overview of the specific hazards associated with offshore installations and other dangers involved in offshore operations in tropical conditions. It also give comprehensive training including sea survival techniques, fire fighting and special safety equipment used in the oil and gas industry and correct ways of conducting boat transfers to and from offshore worksites.

Objectives:

Delegates completed the TBOSIET with Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) training will:

• Be aware of offshore hazards and risks they entail including specific conditions of tropical/hot climate regions;
• Know international offshore safety regulations and adopt safety management culture onboard/at their worksites;
• Be competent at helicopter emergency procedures, recognize differences between emergency breathing systems and operate EBS competently;
• Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques;
• Use hand-held and fixed firefighting equipment and perform self rescue safely and timely;
• Recognize typical hazards associated with conducting transfer to and from offshore installation by boat and practice safe travelling by boat.

Course Content:

• Tropical/ hot climate safety induction;
• Helicopter Emergency procedures and Emergency Breathing System equipment;
• Fire Fighting emergency response and Self Rescue;
• Sea Survival and first aid techniques;
• Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) theory and practice.

Target Audience: New-comers to offshore oil&gas industry who will be/are transferred to the installations by boat in tropical/ hot climate regions.

Duration: 3 – 4 days.

Validity: 4 years.
