NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid Course

The NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid course is designed for offshore personnel designated to render first medical help in case of an accident or an acute illness on an offshore installation. The course content is focused on stabilization of a casualty for the safe transportation ashore, effective communications with a back-up professional doctor and correct actions of the first aid provider.

Objective:

On completion of the NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid training delegates will be able to extend first aid so as to treat most common injuries and health conditions that occur in the offshore environment; coordinate and assist in case of multi-casualty accident and communicate effectively with the onshore medical personnel.

Course content:

• Cross-infection prevention and personal hygiene;
• First aid for hypothermia and drowning;
• Shock, bleeding and wounds treatment;
• Bandages and stabilizing casualties with injuries to neck and spine;
• Muscle injections;
• Preparing for casualty transportations;
• Effective communication and radio medical service;
• Medical records;
• Multi-casualty incident management.

Target Audience: Professionals joining the Dutch offshore industry.

Pre-requisites: None.

Duration: 4 days.

Validity: 2 years.
