NOGEPA 2.2B Offshore First Aid Course

The NOGEPA 2.2B Offshore First Aid is a mandatory refresher training that is taken biannually to revalidate the NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid course certificate. During 2-days training students revive and upgrade skills and knowledge obtained during the initial training including the provision of first aid to casualties suffering from injuries or acute illness on the offshore installation, operating special medical equipment and managing emergencies.

Objective:

The key objective of the NOGEPA 2.2B Offshore First Aid training is to refresh medical skills acquired in course of the original training so as to ensure continual competence of the first aid providers on the North Sea offshore installations.

Course content:

• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, defibrillator;
• Hypothermia, drowning, shock;
• Injuries to head, back and neck;
• Musculoskeletal injuries;
• Preparing for transportation;
• Radio medical advice;
• Offshore medical equipment;
• Medical records keeping.

Target Audience: Holders of the NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid certificates who require revalidation.

Pre-requisites: Valid NOGEPA 2.2A Offshore First Aid certificate.

Duration: 2 days.

Validity: 2 years.
