ISM Code and Pollution Prevention TrainingThe International Safety Management Code governs safe operation in global sea and prevention of water or air contamination from ships. The ISM Code and Pollution Prevention training introduces participants to the content of the code and main principles of its implementation in the area of marine environment protection. The course consists of lectures, group discussions and case studies.

Objective:

The goal of the ISM Code and Pollution Prevention training is to deliver the comprehensive understanding the ISM Code objectives and principles with the particular focus on its environmental protection function. Also, delegates are introduced to the relevant international guidelines and prepared for compliance verifications during audits and inspections.

Course content:

• ISM objectives and content;
• ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS requirements to pollution prevention;
• Implementation in the Ship Safety Management System (SMS);
• Safety, pollution prevention and emergency procedures;
• Pollution prevention systems on different types of vessels.

Target Audience: Deck and Engine officers, ratings.
