The Internal Auditor ISM-ISPS-MLC for Shipping Companies training is developed to provide management personnel of shipping companies with necessary knowledge and techniques to conduct internal audits as per ISM, ISPS and MLC standards. The intensive program of the course presupposes prior knowledge of the three standards.

Objective:

The key objective of the Internal Auditor ISM-ISPS-MLC for Shipping Companies training is to equip designated safety and quality personnel of the shipping companies with the sufficient skill to prepare, conduct, process and follow up formal and informal audits. In addition, the course puts the premium on communication skills development to facilitate productive auditing process.

• ISM/ISPS/MLC overview;
• ISM/ISPS/MLC audits and verification requirements;
• Planning, preparation, process of audits, recording, report writing;
• Communication techniques for effective auditing;
• Industry best practice of maritime auditing;
• Follow up including root analysis and corrective actions handling.

Target Audience: Designated Person Ashore (DPA), Company Security Officer, Quality Managers, other personnel responsible for safety auditing.

Assessment: the course is finished by a mandatory written exam.

Pre-requisites: Profound knowledge of the ISM Code, ISPS Code and MLC 2006 Convention.
