The Ice Navigation (CBT) training is developed to provide a basic knowledge of safe navigation in areas with prevailing cold temperatures. The 1-day course syllabus includes the rules of ice covered waters passage planning, necessary details about ice, vessel preparations and useful tips.

Objective:

The key goal of the Ice Navigation (CBT) training is to introduce participants to the safety aspects of navigation near ice and in waters covered with ice. Moreover, discovering physical features and types of ice, its behavior under the influence of wind and currents, learning vital ship handling techniques as well as ice breaker operations are listed among the important course objectives either.

Course content:

• Navigation in cold environments;
• Passage planning in cold environments;

Target Audience: Bridge personnel of all levels employed on vessels operating in Polar Circle areas.
