Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain (Refresher Course)

The goal of the Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain (Refresher) training is to upgrade skills and knowledge of the personnel assigned to operate as rescue boat coxswains and crew members onboard of offshore installations who have already conducted original OPITO Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain course.

Objective:

The key objective of the Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain (Refresher) training is to ensure the continual competence of the ERRV crew-members in the areas of search and rescue as well as FRB handling operations.

Course content:

• Launching, preparing, handling and recovering techniques;
• Righting a Capsized FRC;
• Planning of Search Patterns;
• Search and Rescue Operations – practical exercises;
• Moving a lifeboat to safety;
• Man overboard recovery tactics;
• Maneuvering to and from a moving vessel;
• Towing operations;
• Helicopter assistance;
• Basic maintenance of boat and engine.

Target Audience: Personnel designated as Fast Rescue Craft Coxswains and crewmembers of offshore installations requiring revalidation of Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain and Man Overboard Boat certificates.

Pre-requisites: Valid Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain and Man Overboard certificates.

Duration: 2 days.

Validity: 3 years.
