The Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain is an OPITO training developed for ERRV crew-members. The course program incorporates a number of theoretical and practical sessions which will provide comprehensive understanding of FRC operation.

Objective:

At the end of the Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain training delegates will able to prepare Fast Rescue Craft; launch it effectively and operate performing search and rescue operations.

Course content:

• Preparation and checking of FRC;
• Launching and release of FRC;
• Recovering an FRC;
• Search and rescue operations with FRC;
• Righting a capsized boat.

Target Audience: OPITO approved ERRV FRC coxswains.

Pre-requisites: Valid OPITO ERRV Crew FRC Boatman certificate and who have three months sea service as an FRC boatman.

Duration: 4 1/2 days.

Validity: 3 years.
