Crowd Management Training
The Crowd Management training complies with the requirements of STCW A-V/2 convention par. 1 as well as IMO Model Course 1.28 and is mandatory for all management, operational and support level personnel assigned to work on passenger vessels.
Objectives:
On completion of the Crowd Management training students will be competent in:
• Handling of ship passengers during various emergencies situations;
• Operating life-saving ship equipment professionally and locating any necessary appliances onboard in a crisis situation;
• Assisting passengers during mustering and emergency embarkation;
• Being fluent in ship safety and emergency procedures; control plans.
Course content:
• Familiarization with STCW 1995;
• Crowd Management procedures;
• Life saving appliances onboard;
• Mustering and embarkation;
• Case studies, group discussions.
Assessment: students are assessed throughout the course depending on team practices and group discussion activity level.
Target Audience: this training is a minimum training requirement for passenger vessel officers and ratings.
Pre-requisites: None.
Duration: ½ day.
