Advanced Training for Oil, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations TrainingThe Advanced Training for Oil, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tankers Cargo Operations is a complex program that features cargo operations and safety procedures attributed to all three types of tankers. The course is developed in compliance with Chapter V Sections A-V/1-2.2, 1-1.3, 1-1.2 and Tables A-V/1-2-2, 1-1-3 and 1-1-2 of the STCW 2010 Convention.

Objective:

Upon the completion of the Advanced Training for Oil, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tankers Cargo Operations students will master all aspects of liquid cargo handling i.e. loading, discharging, care in transit, terminal operations. In addition, course focuses on safety and emergency procedures required to mitigate risks of oil, chemical and liquid gas cargo transportation.

Course content:

• Theory review: tanker and cargo types;
• Tanker related guidelines and international regulations;
• Properties of oil, chemical and liquid gas cargo;
• Volatility, flammability, toxicity, ignition points;
• Cargo operations and cargo calculations;
• Types of tanks and cargo equipment;
• Tank atmosphere control and gas detection devices;
• Crude Oil Washing and Inert Gas Systems;
• Tanker fire fighting;
• Pollution prevention, MARPOL.

Target Audience: Officers responsible for cargo handling operations on board of oil, chemical and liquefied gas tankers.

Pre-requisites: Basic Training for Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations course certificate, valid Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations course or their analogues, some tanker sea-going experience.

Duration: 10 – 14 days.
