Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations
The Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations course complies with chapter V Regulation V/1-2, chapter V Section A-V/1-2.2 and table A-V/1-2-2 of the 2010 STCW Code as well as IMO Model Course 1.06 and is developed to provide advanced training for the Senior Management and operational personnel of LNG tankers.
Objective:
Provide comprehensive knowledge of cargo operations on board LNG tankers in order to raise efficiency of cargo handling operations and minimize the risk of spillage accidents.
Course Content:
• Introduction to liquefied gases;
• Common gas cargoes and their physical properties;
• International rules, regulations and guidelines applicable to gas carriers;
• Hazards of gas cargoes and sources of ignition;
• Gas tanker design features;
• Inert gas systems;
• Behaviour of liquids and gasses;
• Reliquefaction cycles and machinery;
• LNG cargo conditioning;
• Ship and tank types;
• Damage assumptions;
• Cargo pumps;
• Level measuring systems;
• Pressure and temperature gauges, requirements and precautions;
• Enclosed spaces entry;
• Gas detection devices and systems;
• Cargo operations on LNG tankers;
• Personal protective equipment;
• Emergency shut down and fire fighting procedures.
Target Audience: Masters, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers and Second Engineers and other personnel responsible for cargo handling on board of liquefied gas tankers.
Pre-requisites: Valid Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations certificate.
