The Working at Height – Unit 2 PPE User course scrutinizes Personal Protective Equipment employed during working at height operations. At present such advanced Working at Heights trainings are compulsory for all personnel constantly operating on elevated constructions.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the Working at Height –Unit 2 PPE Usercourse delegates will be familiar with industry and equipment specific regulations; competent in the selection, operation, inspection and maintenance of safety and WAH Personal Protective Equipment; demonstrate proficiency in the risk control and rescue activities.

Course content:

• Current Working at Height legislation;
• Working at Height: types and categories;
• Pre-start work planning and risk assessment;
• Safe working systems;
• Types of PPE and inspection methods;
• Working at height danger control including fall protection systems;
• Correct use of WAH safety equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, fall arrest, etc.;
• Working platforms e.g. MEWP, scaffold towers, etc.;
• Safe use of ladders and ancillary equipment;
• Suspension syncope and first medical aid to the casualty.

Assessment: the course includes written examination and practical tasks.

Target Audience: Offshore and wind industries personnel regularly involved in working at height operations.

Duration: 1 day.
