The Working at Height – Unit 7 Practical Management of Working at Height course is designed for specialists actively involved in the working at height operations whilst performing managing and supervisory functions. The training includes intensive practical session and blends key points of the Working at Height – Unit 2 PPE User and Working at Height – Unit 4 Management of Working at Height courses’ syllabuses.

Objective:

The goal of the Working at Height – Unit 7 Practical Management of Working at Height training is to ensure that delegates master the task of WAH operations management. That includes, but is not limited to preparation, planning, organization of Working at Height; performing risk assessment correctly; development of rescue plans; profound knowledge of PPE and safety equipment as well as all related regulations.

Course content:

• WAH legislation overview;
• Hierarchy of control at the worksite;
• Manager/Supervisor responsibilities and duties;
• Fall and impact forces;
• Risk Assessment;
• Accidents statistics and safe working practices;
• Permit system;
• Variety of PPE and safety equipment; its selection, inspection and maintenance;
• Safe selection and use of ladders;
• MEWP operation safety requirements;
• Work positioning, fall arrest and restraint systems;
• Development of Rescue from Height plan and emergency procedures;
• Suspension intolerance.

Target Audience: Personnel involved in the management, supervision or planning of the WAH activities.

Pre-requisites: Some sections of the Working at Height – Unit 7 Practical Management of Working at Height training tend to be physically demanding, so the majority of providers require valid medical certificate. Some training centers also ask for the in-date Working at Height – Unit 2 PPE User certificate to be admitted for the course.
