In the focus of the Working at Height – Unit 6 PPE Inspection training is professional working at height Personal Protective Equipment and standards of its inspection, maintenance and handling. The course comprises of theoretical and practical parts and is compulsory for the personnel supervising working at heights activities and conducting inspections at these worksites.

Objectives:

During the Working at Height – Unit 6 PPE Inspection training delegates are acquainted with the important industry regulations and are trained to inspect WAH Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with the imposed standards.

Course content:

  • Working at Height Regulations 2005;
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER);
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (MHSWR)
  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
  • Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations;
  • Types of harnesses used in WAH operation and inspections procedures;
  • Restraint systems varieties and inspection protocols;
  • Fall arrest systems and correct inspection methods.

Assessment: no official assessment is required.

Target Audience: Personnel assigned to conduct regular inspections of the PPE at the worksites where working at height is required.

Pre-requisites: Participants must have previously completed the following trainings: Working at Height – Unit 1 Height Safety Awareness and Working at Height – Unit 2 PPE User course.

Duration: 1 day.

Validity:  none, but occasional revalidation is recommended by course providers.
