The OPITO approved Travel Safely by Boat Further Training (TSbB-FT) exists to refresh necessary boat safety and survival skills that delegates have received during the initial Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) course. As its counterpart it is also targeted at offshore staff travelling to their installations and vessels mainly by boats.

Objective:

As a result of the Travel Safely by Boat Further Training (TSbB-FT), successful delegates will:

• Refresh their understanding of the risks connected with the boat transfers and means of reasonable control;
• Practice boat transfer and emergency response in a simulated environment.

Course content:

• Embarkation and disembarkation safety procedures;
• Boat transfer individual responsibilities;
• Use of proper flotation device during transfer and emergency;
• Swinging rope transfer, luggage transfer;
• Emergency situation behavior, practical in-water survival exercises.

Target Audience: Offshore personnel who travel by boat fairly regularly; are in possession of the initial Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) certificate and require its revalidation.

Pre-requisites: valid OPITO Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) certificate and offshore medical certificate.

Duration: ¼ of the day.

Validity: 4 years.
