The ECDIS Type Specific (Sperry Marine) is based on requirements of the STCW 2010 convention and ISM code. It also complies with MCA MIN 442 M+F for the operations and controls of VisionMaster FT ECDIS.

Objective:

During the ECDIS Type Specific (Sperry Marine) training students acquire theoretical knowledge of the system structure and functions as well as practical skills of navigation with the help of Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine ECDIS. They learn to set the system up, receive miscellaneous information from the display and recognize the alarms system might send so as to perform maintenance and/ or troubleshooting.

Course content:

• System interface;
• NG Sperry Marine ECDIS display features and sensors;
• Working with Charts;
• Navigational activities;
• Obtaining additional information from the ECDIS display;
• System alarms;
• Maintenance of Charts;
• Backups and data management.

Target Audience: Nautical officers assigned to work with NG Sperry Marine ECDIS system onboard.

Pre-requisites: valid ECDIS Course (Generic) certificate.
