Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork
The Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork course is developed for the benefit of Deck Officers and complies with Section A-II/2-6 of STCW convention and IMO Model Course 1.22. It provides a good training aid in bridge equipment handling and acquiring bridge team management skills.
Objective:
After the Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork course delegates will demonstrates more competence in ship handling and maneuvering under various conditions, adhere to company’s safety culture and contribute to bridge team activities.
Course content:
• Introduction to bridge equipment;
• Ship handling and maneuvering;
• Navigation under effects of lateral wind, currents, shallow water, banks, narrow channel;
• Anchoring and single-buoy mooring;
• Passage plan development and contingency planning;
• Delegation of duties on the bridge, rest and fatigue.
Target Audience: Masters, Deck Officers of all ranks.
Pre-requisites: CoC, minimum 6 month of sea-going experience.
Duration: 5 days.
