The Ship Handling and Maneuvering – Management Level course is developed for the senior bridge personnel who would like to enhance their navigational capabilities and acquire additional ship handling knowledge. The training complies with Sections A-II/2, A-II/3 Paragraph 7, Table A-II/2 and A-II/3 of STCW 1995 convention.

Objective:

The key objective of the Ship Handling and Maneuvering – Management Level course is to provide Masters and Chief Officers with the advanced ship handling skills including collision avoidance, complicated maneuvers required in confided waters, dry docking, berthing and emergency ship handling.

Course content:

• Review of the basic ship handling maneuvers;
• Ship handling in confided and congested waters, COLREGS;
• Vessel control in a heavy weather, influence of wind, currents and tides;
• Anchoring, berthing and single-buoy mooring;
• Dry-docking operations;
• Working with pilots and tugs;
• Emergency ship handling.

Target Audience: Management level Deck Officers.

Pre-requisites: valid Radar and ARPA certificates, other certificates upon internal requirements.

Duration: 5 days.
