Objective:

The key objective of the Passage Planning and Electronic Navigation Systems course is to enhance students’ voyage planning skills and gain firm practical knowledge of vessel navigational systems such as Gyrocompasses, GPS, ECDIS, etc.

• Great Circle and Mercator sailing;
• Ocean route planning;
• Voyage planning;
• GPS and DGPS;
• Magnetic and Gyro compass;
• ECDIS systems;
• Adaptive Autopilots;
• Integrated Bridge Systems.

Target Audience: 2nd and 3rd Officers upgrading to Chief Officers and Masters.

Pre-requisites: Previous sea-going experience is a must.

Duration: 5 days.
