The Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting course is developed to provide delegates with practical knowledge about this method of welding and rules of equipment handing. The training program also includes practical exercises and safety briefing.

Objective:

Upon completion of the Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting course participants will:

• Obtain hand-on experience  in basic welding with the use of oxy-acetylene torch;
• Understand hazards implicated by OAW appliances;
• Be able to perform heating and cutting with the help of OAW equipment;
• Gain sufficient practice in plasma arc cutting procedures.

Course content:

• Safety procedures during OAW;
• Principles of Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting;
• Setting up an oxy-acetylene torch, cylinder storage and care;
• Practice in welding and cutting.

Target Audience: Oilers, Able Seamen, Fitters, Marine Engineers and other marine personnel requiring welding skills.

Pre-requisites: At least Basic Welding Course certificate or higher welding qualifications.

Duration: 1 – 2 days.
