The Marine Accident Investigation is an intensive training program based on the IMO Model course 3.11 that provides skills and instruments necessary for the competent and consistent marine casualty and incident investigation. The course syllabus complies with the provisions of the SOLAS regulations I/21 and XI-1/6 and the related IMO requirements to marine incident investigations. There are both theoretical and practical parts explaining collecting, analyzing, reporting and follow up techniques.

Objective:

On completion of the Marine Accident Investigation training delegates will be able to conduct independent marine incident or casualty investigations in accordance with international maritime requirements.

• On site risk assessment and investigation management;

• The Investigation Report;
• Human Factor and a Case Study;
• Analysis and Discussion of Marine Accident Investigation Reports.

Target Audience: Personnel of maritime administrations, port authorities, managers of shipping companies, senior nautical officers.

Pre-requisites: Some shipping experience would be an advantage.
