The Major Emergency Management Initial Training (MEMIR) program is developed by OPITO specialists to provide personnel of the Bridge or Control Room Operators of offshore installations with the optimal emergency situation management patterns and decision making concepts that can be applied in case of an offshore or marine emergency.

Objective:

The main objective of the Major Emergency Management Initial Training (MEMIR) course program is to induct participants to the main concepts of emergency management and equip them with necessary skills to cope with any marine or offshore major emergency scenario.

Course content:

• Emergency information management;
• Priorities establishment, work out of plans;
• Emergency plan procedures;
• Effective communication during emergency;
• Management of resources;
• Task delegation;
• Coping with stress and fatigue.

Target Audience: Any personnel who might be designated to be in change on emergency management.
