LCHS LPGThe Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LPG) training is created to train officers and cargo specialists working predominantly on LPG carriers. The course program is designed in accordance with the IMO Model Courses 1.35 “Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator” and mainly consists of practical tasks completed on simulator.

Objective:

Among the learning outcomes of the Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LPG) training are the following issues:

• Familiarization with LPG tanker layout and key aggregates;
• Introduction to vessel’s cargo and ballast system;
• Practical training in cargo planning, loading and unloading of LPG cargo;
• Obtaining general understanding of the physical and chemical properties of LPG;
• Sufficient knowledge of the relevant international and industry regulations and guidelines;
• Recognition of safety and emergency procedures during LPG cargo handling.

Course content:

• LPG tanker layout and piping;
• LPG carrier’s cargo system structure;
• Ballast system familiarization;
• LPG properties, inerting of tanks;
• Relevant regulations;
• Safety procedures, emergency response.

Target Audience: Master, Chief mate, 2nd and 3rd mates, Cargo Officers designated to work onboard of LPG tanker.

Pre-requisites: Previous tanker experience is desirable.

Duration: 5 days.
