LCHSThe purpose of the Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LNG) training is to familiarize senior Deck officers and mates who are chiefly responsible for cargo handling on LNG carriers with operational principles of Cargo Handling Systems installed on modern tankers. The course complies with the requirements of STCW 2010 Convention, Section B 1/12, i 40 (2,3) and IMO Model Course 1.36.

Objective:

The learning objectives of the Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LNG) training include:

• Introduction of Deck officers to the LNG tanker layout;
• Obtaining essential knowledge in the cargo system design maintenance;
• Development of ballast control, advanced trim and stability calculation skills with the help of LCH simulator;
• Complex simulator training in loading, unloading, contamination prevention and over cargo operations;
• Ability to perform cargo operations planning and respond adequately to emergencies connected with the taker cargo handling system.

 Course content:

• Physical and chemical properties of Liquefied Natural Gas;
• LNG carrier layout, Cargo Handling System variety and design;
• Cargo planning, loading and unloading, terminal operations;
• IGS, gassing up;
• Cargo contamination prevention;
• LNG operating procedures, safety protocols, emergency procedures;

Target Audience: Tanker officers, gas engineers, cargo operators and supervisors, any other LNG personnel.

Pre-requisites: Valid Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate.

Duration: 4 days.
