IWCF Pressure Control Level 2The IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Level 2 training introduces participants to the Completion equipment and Completion Operations as vital aspects of well intervention pressure control. Course syllabus also includes three optional modules i.e. Coiled Tubing Operations, Wireline Operations and Snubbing Operations. At least one of them must be chosen to complete assessment procedure.

Objective:

Upon successful completion of the IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Level 2 training delegates will obtain a basic understanding of well intervention pressure control procedures with a particular focus on the following:

• Appreciate the importance of contingency and pre-job site planning, risk management in well intervention procedures;
• Stout knowledge of well control theory such as ‘hydrostatic’ and ‘formation pressure’, ‘primary and secondary well control’;
• Be able to use BOP and pressure control equipment correctly;
• Recognize symptoms of a kick and describe basic principles of well shut-in;
• Define IWCF recommended methods of well killing i.e. bull heading, reverse circulating, lubricate and bleed;
• Recognize various types of pressure gauge problems.

• Overview of completion operations;
• Well control basics and methods;
• Barriers;
• Risk management;
• Circulation system;
• Testing;
• Influx;
• Shut-in procedures;
• Contingency planning.

Completion equipment:

• Blow out preventers;
• Completion equipment;
• Annulus pressure monitoring.

Assessment: In order to obtain IWCF certificate delegates must complete assessment in 2 compulsory modules and at least 1 optional. Assessment consists of 2 written multiple choice test and practical simulator exercise. Participants must achieve minimum 70% score to obtain an IWCF certificate.

Target Audience: Assistant Operator and all personnel designated to work with influx.
