The IWCF Drilling Well Control Level 1 course is developed for personnel working in the Oil&Gas industry, but who are not directly involved in the drilling operations. Training is available in the online and E-learning as well as classroom format and provides comprehensive understanding of the well-control and oil production processes.

Objective:

The key goal of the IWCF Drilling Well Control Level 1 training is to familiarize all secondary involved staff with the fundamentals of drilling industry routines including components of the rig and essential systems as well as well control and case studies of emergencies and accidents prevention basics.

Course content:

• Introduction to well control;
• Avoiding well control accidents case studies;
• Familiarization with the well barrier notion: components and principles;
• Killing of completed wells.

Assessment: there is no formal assessment at this level of IWCF training.

Target Audience: Onshore employees of Oil&Gas companies, subcontractors, suppliers, drilling companies’ representatives that might occasionally visit Oil&Gas drilling facilities, trainees, other non-critical personnel.

Pre-requisites: None.

Duration: 4 hours.

Note: Foer more advanced training students are adviced to take up IWCF Drilling Well Control Level 2 course.
