Drilling Familiarization TrainingAll personnel starting career at oilfields as well as onshore employees of drilling companies are recommended to take up the Introduction to Drilling training which is specially developed to provide induction to the well drilling procedures, essential terminology and functions of FPSO units.

Objective:

It is expected that after the Introduction to Drilling training delegates will be able to:

• Recognize stages of well drilling and identify most important parties involved;
• Know the organizational structure of offshore and onshore drilling sites;
• Define main equipment of a drilling rig and know its functions;
• Possess a sufficient knowledge of oilfield terms;
• Understand the principles of FPSO operation and recognize its main units.

• Structure and equipment of a drilling rig;
• Rig move;
• Drilling operations;
• Onshore drilling;

• Core sampling operations;

• Pressures in a well;
• Drilling problems and crisis management;
• Drilling fluid and circulation system;
• Practical exercises.

Assessment:  No formal assessment.

Target Audience:  Newcomers to the Oil&Gas industry.

Pre-requisites: None.

Note:  Next level training is IWCF Drilling Well Control Level 1.
