IMCA Diver Medic Technician Refresher
According to the IMCA certification scheme the IMCA Diver Medic Technician Refresher training must be completed within the 3-months period before the expiration of the initial IMCA Diver Medic Technician certificate. There is also 8 weeks period after the expiry date, but it is reserved for the emergency circumstances.
Objective:
The key objective of the Refresher course is to ensure competence of the Dive Medic Technicians and upgrade it to the IMCA standards. During of the 5 days course delegates review diving medical theory and practice advance first aid to various diving specific illnesses and traumas.

• Physiology review;
• Diagnostic procedures;
• Oxygen administration in hyperbaric chamber and in emergencies;
• Diving conditions, occupational traumas;
• Gas and fume exposure;
• Drowning;
• Nitrogen narcosis;
• Oxygen toxicity;
• High pressure nervous syndrome;
• Hypothermia and Hyperthermia;
• Under pressure;
• Advanced airway management;
• Performing intravenous infusions, insertion of urinary catheter;
• Suturing and parenteral administration of drugs;
• Casualty transportation techniques.
Target Audience: Holders of the IMCA DMT certificate requiring a renewal.
Pre-requisites: Check with the training provider.
Validity: 2 years.
Duration: 5 days.
