IDSA Level 2 (Surface Supplied Inshore Air Diver) Course

The IDSA Level 2 (Surface Supplied Inshore Air Diver) is a professional diving course featuring both SCUBA and surface orientated air diving equipment. The training program is 50% theoretical and 50% practical and is devoted to inland and inshore dives, safe use of underwater welding equipment, pneumatic tools, explosives, immersions in the contaminated waters, etc.

Objective:

After the IDSA Level 2 (Surface Supplied Inshore Air Diver) the participants will be competent in:

• Background knowledge such as physics of gases, buoyancy, decompression tables to perform necessary diving calculation;
• Possess skills required in operation of diving equipment safely and effectively;
• Planning and carry out dives in hyperbaric or underwater environment;
• Provision of an effective emergency response, diver rescue if required;
• Operation of various types of pneumatic tools, underwater welding and cutting equipment, rising elements, etc.

Course content:

• Diving safety calculations;
• Hyperbaric Chamber operations;
• Power Tools, Wet Welding ,Thermal Arch Cutting equipment;
• Air Lift and Jetting equipment;
• Offshore construction basics;
• Bolt Guns, Explosives;
• Polluted waters diving;
• Diving emergency procedures.

Target Audience: Commercial SCUBA Divers upgrading qualification to IDSA Level 2.

Pre-requisites: Medical examination with the hyperbaric specialist and physical test including swimming 400 m in less than 15min, diving to 25 m breath-holding and without flippers, a compression test at a depth of not less than 30 m (4 ATA) under the supervision of a hyperbaric chamber operator and a team chief in a hyperbaric chamber and a static apnea test of 1 minute.
Some recognized First Aid Provider qualification as well as Oxygen Provider certificate is required either.

Duration: Up to 6 weeks.
