In accordance with Global Wind Organization (GWO) requirements GWO Sea Survival Refresher training should be completed every 2 years to refresh and update skills obtained during the initial GWO Sea Survival training course. Continual upgrading of safety qualification of offshore personnel maintains collective safety culture on the offshore and wind turbines and is vital for the effective emergency response of the entire staff.

Objective:

The key objective of the GWO Sea Survival Refresher training is to revive and upgrade basic survival practices received by the wind turbine and offshore personnel in course of the initial training program. The Refresher module focuses on proficiency in the use of different kind of safety equipment, symptoms and treatment of life-threatening conditions, search and rescue techniques and devices in various emergency conditions.

Course content:

• Personal safety on wind turbines, offshore units;
• Symptoms of drowning and hypothermia, first aid;
• Safety rules during transfer;
• Effective use of LSA, PPE, PFPE;
• Survival at sea; swimming techniques, turning a capsized liferaft;
• SAR and GDMSS update;
• Evacuation process procedures.

Target Audience: Offshore and Renewables industry personnel requiring revalidation of the GWO Sea Survival certificate.

Pre-requisites: Valid initial GWO Sea Survival certificate.

Duration: 1 day.

Validity: 2 years.
