The GWO First Aid Refresher is a recurrent training for the GWO First Aid developed by the Global Wind Organization. The refresher module is developed to remind how to provide first aid to yourself or the colleague in an isolated environment of the wind turbine and should be taken every 2 years. The course includes theoretical and practical parts.

Objective:

The key objective of the GWO First Aid Refresher training is to revive the skills and knowledge received during the original course; in particular symptoms of the most common injuries and illnesses attributed to WTG as well as  methods of self-treatment with the use of the available equipment.

Course content:

• Legal frame review;
• Medical equipment on a WTG;
• Normal functions of a human body;
• Recognition of traumas, illnesses, heart attacks, hypothermia, etc.;
• First aid to injuries;
• First aid to casualty;
• Use of AED review.

Target Audience: Personnel of wind turbines needing revalidation of GWO First Aid certificates.

Pre-requisites: Valid initial GWO First Aid certificate.

Duration: ½ day.

Validity: 2 years.
