Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET)
The aim of the Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) course is to create a simulated environment where offshore personnel can practice their emergency response and survival skills which are impossible to train during routine safety exercises on board or on MOU.
Objectives:
• Demonstrate helicopter safety skills with the premium on efficient helicopter escape after ditching.
• Effective operation of safety and firefighting equipment; knowledge of self rescue tactics;
• Well-coordinated first aid procedures.
Course Content:
• Helicopter Safety and Escape:
– Operation and use of EBS or CA-EBS;
– Preparation protocol for helicopter ditching or emergency landing;
– Actions protocol following helicopter ditching or emergency landing.
• Fire Fighting and Self Rescue:
– Use of hand held extinguishers;
– Operation of fixed hose reels;
– Self rescue in a low visibility and completely obscured visibility.
• First Aid Module.
Target Audience: All personnel working in the offshore industry.
Pre-requisites: Valid OPITO approved BOSIET /TBOSIET or FOET / TFOET certificate and medical fitness certificate.
Validity: 4 years.
Important: There are additional requirements for Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) certificate to work in the North Sea Sector (UK, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands). CA-EBS or Escape Chute Training might be required; please refer to the Mutual Recognition of Basic and Refresher Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training agreement, Annex B for the additional guidance.
