The purpose of the ECDIS Type Specific (Transas) training is to familiarize navigators with the specific features of the equipment delegates have not obtained during the ECDIS Generic Course which is often conducted on the Transas Marine simulators as well. The most popular choice of the simulator facility for both training is Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS system.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the ECDIS Type Specific (Transas) course, delegates will be able to apply ECDIS Transas competently for vessel navigation; planning and monitoring routes, displaying necessary navigational information and making required system updates and maintenance.

• Main functions of Transas Navi-Sailor;
• Screen set up process;
• Alarms and malfunctions indicators;
• Route planning and monitoring;
• Software updates;
• Charts and license uploading, manual correction of the system;
