The ECDIS Type Specific (FURUNO) training is designed for Masters and Navigators requiring specific qualification in operation of ECDIS FURUNO system. The FEA 21/07 – 28/07 and FMD 3100/3200/3300 systems are most often used as simulator facilities.

Objective:

Obtain theoretical knowledge regarding of ECDIS FURUNO system configuration as well as practical skills of its safe and efficient operation. The ECDIS Type Specific (FURUNO) training’s syllabus also includes maintenance module during which students learn to identify faults in the system and remedy them.

Course content:

• Introduction to the menu of the ECDIS FURUNO system;
• Familiarization with display and available functions;
• Setting of safety values;
• Identification of alarms and malfunctions issued by the system and remedial actions to be taken;
• Route planning and monitoring;
• Changing to the backup systems;
• Software updating and new charts and license upload;

Target Audience: Navigators of all levels required to operate ECDIS FURUNO system.

Pre-requisites: ECDIS Course (Generic) certificate.
