ECDIS Type Specific (JRC)
The ECDIS Type Specific (JCR) training is approved by system manufactures, Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (JRC), and is recommended for marine navigators operating JRC ECDIS systems. Models JAN-701, 901 and JAN-2000 are most commonly used both onboard and for training purposes correspondingly.
Objectives:
The key goals of the ECDIS Type Specific (JCR) training are to learn to operation of the system i.e.:
• Be able to launch and set up the ECDIS JRC system;
• Use the system effectively as a navigational tool and receive information from the display;
• Recognize alarms and malfunctions in the equipment and cope efficiently.
Course content:
• Functions of the ECDIS JRC systems;
• Display set up and menu options;
• Setting of safety values;
• Alarms and malfunctions indicators and troubleshooting actions;
• Route planning;
• Obtaining information from ECDIS display;
• Changing to the backup systems;
• Software updating;
• Charts and license uploading;
Target Audience: Navigators operating ECDIS JRC systems.
